Running Man Song Ji Hyo Makeup Tutorial
This is a makeup tutorial for Song Ji Hyo's makeup in episode 158. I just thought that her makeup was really elegant and simple. So I decided to do a tutorial on it. The main focus on her makeup is her lip because she has a red lipstick on while it seems as if she didn't apply eye makeup on. (In the picture, her eyes seems dark because of the lighting. Sorry. Please go to the episode for the real lighting)
Skincare Tip: Exfoliation Is A Must
When I comes to skincare, I personally think that exfoliating is the most important thing because when you exfoliate your skin, it scrubs off the dead skin cells and reveal skin that is brighter, softer, and healthier. Although sometimes using exfoliate products can hurt, the result afterward is worth it.
Some products I have tried and would recommend are :
Queen Helene Oatmeal n honey
( This is on the more gentle side with less the pain and gives really nice feeling skin afterward)
The Face Shop Smart Peeling Honey Black Sugar Scrub
(This one is more on the heavier side. Which means that it will hurt more when you scrub it on your face because the sugar crystals are a little bigger. But afterward when you rinse it off, the skin just feels heavenly and you will not stop touching your face because it is so soft.) ( i think they changed the packaging. This is the old one.)
DIY: If you don't want to spend money on exfoliating products, you can make your own.
The Ingredients:
- Rice flour
- White Sugar
- Honey
- Milk
-Lemon Juice (Optional)
I'm not going to exact measurements because it depends on how much you want and the consistency you want. Put all these ingredients together and mix until you get a liquidy paste. Put more sugar for a better scrubbing effect.
That is all for this post but remember not to over do it. Just once or twice a week is enough.

Korean Skincare
When ever I watch a Korean Drama or Music Video, everyone seems to have such nice skin. Everyone just seems to have soft, dewy, milky skin which I really envy. But there was definitely a lot of hard work that was put into it. As far as I know, Korean people takes really good care to their skin and follow their skincare routine religiously. And usually, there will be a lot of steps.
The steps usually are
Face Cleansing >> Toner >> Essence >>Emulsion >>Face Cream >> Eye Cream
*Face Cleansing is really inportant. Korean people will usually use 2 types of cleansers. First, an cleansing oil to remove dirt/ makeup while massaging to face. Then an foam type cleanser to make sure that the skin is fully cleansed.
Now that is only the basics. Sometimes they will do sheet masks or wash off packs before applying the skincare. You can even make your own wash off packs. Or, they would exfoliate their skin to take away the dead skin cells.
As far as applying the product, I heard from a YouTube guru that the Korean actresses won't even touch their own face when applying the product because the bacteria will cause the skin to breakout. So, how do they apply it? The YouTube guru said that the actresses will combine all the skincare into a spray bottle and just spray it onto their skin. But it is totally fine to just apply it with your fingers.
I have been using Korean Skincare ever since I started to take care of my skin. I started to use skincare seriously was in High school because I wore makeup to school. But when putting on my makeup, it would always seem ashy, flaky and disgusting. So I decide to research on skincare. And because I loved Kpop and Korea so much, I wanted to research on Korean Skincare. Now, the only Korean skincare that is available where I live is The Face Shop. So I started out using The Face Shop products. The first product I have ever used was from the pore minimizing line. Then I heard that Missha, was having a sale online so I bought some Skincare from them too. Now, since I have my own credit card, I can branch out to other Skincare brands. So far, my most favorite brand to buy skincare from is TonyMoly and Innisfree. They are actually my favorite brand in general. Although I love their products, I won't stick to one product in my routine. After I finish with one product, I will try something else. But in general, Korean Skincare and following all these steps have really saved my skin. I use to have really dull and dry skin. But now, my skin feels really soft and it have brightened up.
Recommendations:
- My Beauty Diary Face Masks (They aren't Korean but it is my holy grail brand for sheet masks. This sheet mask can replace all of my skincare because it is better than any skincare product I have ever used)
-TonyMoly Whitening Capsule Essence (I could see my face getting a little whiter and brighter)
-Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel (This is a multi use gel. You can use it for anything. Mix it in your foundation to get a dewy look, moisturize you face, etc)
-Secret Key Racoony Hydro Eye and Spot Patch ( It is a mask for your eyes and also have a mask for spots)
-Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Ampoule (This is an intensive essence that contain really rich ingredients that are great for the skin. But can be pricey. It is best to buy it when Missha is having a sale)
Products I'm using now :
-Holika Holika Cooling Toner (Good to use after shaower so that your pores will close back up)
-Holika Holika Secret Source Hydro Essence
-Holika Holika fairy water Pure fresh Emulsion (It is really watery. You only need a little. But there is a slight herbal scent to it)
-Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Refreshing Hydra Gel ( It is slighty on the heavy side. I wouldn't use it in the morning. The price is horrible because of the brand. It is just another ordinary face cream. You can find a better one that is cheaper)
-The Face Shop Pomegranate and Collagen Volume Lifting Eye Cream (Nothing special. Its just an ordinary eye cream and there is no lifting affect.)
-Holika Holika Egg Soap (Its in the shape of an egg.)
-Amore Pacific Enzyme Peel ( It is in a powder form. Gentle on the skin and you only need a little to make it lather up)
-Queen Helene Oatmeal n' Honey face scrub ( Great product to exfoliate the face with. Makes my skin really soft afterward)

Ulzzang (얼짱) Makeup
So today, I'm going to talk about Ulzzangs. In Korean, Ulzzang means best faced. This term usually refers to people on the internet who has really nice pictures, with a flawless looking face and natural eye makeup. But people mostly only use this term to famous internet people who has these features. Online, they seem to have a really flawless looking face with a pointy jaw line. But in real life, I don't know if that is really true because all of those features can be achieved by using Photoshop/ other picture editing software. And I have seen Ulzzangs on TV shows and their face does look different from their photos. For example Ulzzang Pony (Park Hye Min). In her pictures, she seems to have a really nice defined pointy jaw line but in her makeup tutorials (Pony's Beauty Diary), her jaw isn't really that pointy. (I love Ulzzang Pony. Don't get me wrong. I'm just using her as an example)
Makeup wise, Ulzzang's key points are (this applys to both boy and girl) :
-Circle lenses
-To make the eye appear bigger & change/enhance eye color
- BB cream
- To cover up imperfections & for a clear looking face
-Eyeliner
-Apply to top eye line for a natural look or,apply to top and 1/3 of lower outer corner to create wider eyes
-Use black for a more defined eye or use brown for a more natural eye
-Enhanced under eye fat (Aegyo Sal )
-Most Korean people have this. When you smile so much that your eyes kind of squint, there is a little bit or in some cases, a lot of "fat" under your eyes. According to some Koreans, they think that it is very cute to have that and some people even go as far as getting surgery to make their under eye fat bigger.
-If you don't have a visible under eye fat and don't want to get surgery to achieve this, you can actually squint your eyes, get a brown pencil liner or brown eye shadow and draw a line under the "fat". but be sure to blend it out afterward because you don't want it to look fake. Then get a white eye shadow and apply it to the area above the line you just drew. if you have a darker skin tone, use a eye shadow a shade lighter than your skin.
-Gradient Lips
-This is another key point to Ulzzang makeup because a gradient lip gives a more natural look to the lips and also making it look cuter
- To achieve this gradient lip, you will need a lip tint. Apply this lip tint in the inner part of your lips and on the outer part, you can either apply a nudeish pink lipstick or you can just leave it like that and apply a lip gloss or lip balm. But if you don't have a lip tint, you can use a red, berry, or bright pink lipstick and dab it in the inner part of your lips.
-Straight Eyebrows
-Most Ulzzang will have a really straight and full eyebrow because it gives them a younger look. But I know that some Ulzzangs actually don't bother to do their eyebrows because their bangs will cover their eyebrow. (If an Ulzzang has straight bangs).
-Contoured and Highlighted nose
-This not only applies to Ulzzang but many people use this too. Just contour your nose to make it look slimmer and higher
That is basically everything. To achieve an Ulzzang look, just follow these key points and you might just have a chance of looking like an Ulzzang. An if you want to, you can also edit your picture. Like slimming the jaw line, make your eyes bigger, have clearer skin, and etc. There is nothing you can't do with Photoshop.
Here is what I did to myself:

Care Package from Michigan ft. Lilly Pulitzer Makeup Pouch
My mom received a package from her friend and in side the package, were beauty related things. Turns out, that I could take anything I want from the package because it was mainly for me. Inside the package, the first thing that caught my eyes was a really colorful makeup bag.It is a Lilly Pulitzer For Estee Lauder makup bag.
When I picked up the bag, it was really heavy so I knew that there would be more goodies inside. Inside, there were some lotions, face serums, and eye cream
-Bath & Body Works Cotton Blossom Lotion
-Artistry Time Defiance 3D Lifting Serum
-Artistry Replenishing Eye Creme
-Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair
Aside from the face serums, there was also another mini pouch that had the same design as the makeup pouch. And inside, there was a mini eye shadow palette. The palette contains really nice neutral shades.

Soho Haul (Forever 21 & H&M)
So I went to Chinatown today to get my retainer. Right after that, I decided to go to Soho to do a little shopping. So at H&M, I got a scarf because I love winter fashion and I love buying scarves. The scarf costs $9.95. Then I went to Forever 21 and I found this really nice graphic backpack. It was in the section with all the Avengers themed stuff. The backpack costs $24.80.

Feeling Depressed With My Future
Have anyone ever felt depressed when thinking about your future? To be honest, that is me every single day. Because I have no one to talk about these thoughts to, I will just release it all here in this post. From when I was little till now, I guess you can say that I'm a 3 minute person. When I say that I want to do something, there is always something else that I want to do instead of that. When i was little, I wanted to be a artist, and the performing/ singing kind. But in terms of drawing . But the truth is that I can draw with my own mind, I could only copy a picture from a story book. When I was 9, I learned how to cook and till this day, i still love cooking. When I was little, i said that I wanted to open my own restaurant but today in the present, I tell myself that I don't want to spend the rest of my life in a kitchen and I also promised myself that I would never cook for anyone ever again because people can't appreciate the fact that I have spent my time to cook for them and they treat my food like trash. It really breaks my heart. Then when I was in middle school and going into highschool, I found out what Kpop was and I said to myself that I want to live the life they are living so,I practiced singing and learned how to dance. But in the end, I never followed through with that thought because I know that it wasn't something that I will be able to handle and that I wasn't talented in that field. So in high school, I said that I wanted to become a fashion designer and I even took classes during the summer. When it was time to apply for college, I only applied to fashion schools and schools that are safe schools meaning that I could get into them without any effort. But when the results came, I was rejected by the fashion schools. So I tell myself that fashion wasn't for me anyways. When i took summer courses in fashion, I realized that I didn't have the same passion as the other people in that room and i wasn't happy being in those classes. Now that i'm gonna start college, I decided to major in English and become an English teacher in Korea. But I know that the reason why I want to teach English in Korea is not because I love teaching but because I really want to move to Korea and start a new life there and the only way I can do that is if I can earn a living there and teaching would be my only solution. I really don't know what I want to do with my life. There are many things that I want to do but I really want to find that one thing that I was meant to do. But I guess the reason why I can't do anything is because I'm not a social-able person and that I have no friends or anyone in general that I can talk to and get some advice. ( Although I have people that I claim to be my "friends")
